New here (about a week ago)

Well, they actually already make some components using 3D printing. For example, the parts I program are nested on fixtures and some of the fixtures are 3D printed. My department actually works with composite material parts so it’s not much of a stretch to believe we’re headed that way. Will...

New here (about a week ago)

I just realized that I had never posted an introduction. My apologies. I'm Steven, from Kansas. I'm an NC Programmer at an aircraft company. I've always loved computers and tech. I am pretty much brand new to Linux and am fired up to learn everything about it. On top of that, I enjoy tinkering...

Can't get Pycharm installed (Getting a .exe and not a tar.gz file)

I'm trying to install Pycharm onto my R Pi 400. I go to the download page but when it downloads I just get the exe and not the tar.gz file. Can anyone tell me why?? Maybe this is an issue when downloading other files too and someone could help? Thanks.

Multiple OSs for the Raspberry Pi 400?

Cool, thanks! In your post regarding Linux Cinnamon, you said, "Also my screen is not what you will see as I have manipulated a few things with conky/geany" What's conky/geany?

Multiple OSs for the Raspberry Pi 400?

Hello. I have a RPi 400 and wondered if it's possible to try out different OSs on it? It has the Raspberry OS, obviously, but I'd like to play around with different ones. If so, what's the best way to go about trying it? How would I set it up? Is it a matter of just downloading them? Sorry to...

What are you using your single-boards for?

Hello. I know this post of yours is nearly a year old but I wondered, how do I get RetroPi? I recently picked up the RPi 400 and have it set up but I'd like to install RetroPi Thanks.

New to Linux and need install direction

Excellent! Thanks for the Youtube info. Actually, when I bought the Linux Bible I also got The Linux Command Line (and also, Linux Basics for Hackers, which will be read quite a bit further down the road, as I learn a lot more). I got all three of them with a "buy three for the price of two"...

So this is just something you install and you're on your way? I'm asking but I'll check out the embedded videos about it.

New to Linux and need install direction

Thanks for the welcome! So in using a VM can you pretty much do everything you could as if it were actually installed on the computer? As far as learning, working with command line, etc?

New to Linux and need install direction

Hello, CrazedNerd, As I mentioned, I plan to use Fedora. I don't want to wipe out Windows at this point. I want to either use Linux via a virtual machine, boot it from a USB flash drive, or maybe (now that I think about it) have a dual boot situation. The dual boot situation looks appealing...
