Solved kubuntu can't update dell xps laptop firmware

it wasn't any of those. But now it's disappeared. I'm not sure why. For the others, I've done firmware updates via usb stick a couple times with no problems, I was just thinking this was something new. But like I said it's gone now. I don't know if it updated or what. Oh well, I'll mark as solved.

Solved kubuntu can't update dell xps laptop firmware

The kubuntu 22.04 Discover software on Plasma desktop shows a Dell firmware update, but it won't update when I tell it to update all. I try booting from a cold machine thinking it will run on boot up, but no joy. Any ideas? Red

    Solved Kate Word Count

thanks, y'all. I'm going to try to use the script first mentioned. I've never actually manually added a script to Kate before, so I've a learning curve lol.. As of now, I just display the page as an html page, copy the text and dump it into LibreWriter to get a word count. That won't be...

    Solved Kate Word Count

I've been doing some writing lately, and I'm using KATE to do the html. Now the last time I used it, I thought it had natively supported a feature called WordCount, which would count the number of words in the document for you. Is that no longer available or is there something I missed? (I think...

I think it works bc it deletes the config file or whatever, then recreates it properly after a reboot? That was my thinking anyway.

Solved While Using PGP (gpa), it claims my loging pw doesn't match keyring?

I think this is the right thread forum? I tried to get a screenshot, but it wouldn't let me. Recently I posted a thread asking how to change my encryption login for my laptop. A solution was found using command line and everything seemed fine. Now when using GPA and signing or encrypting text...

    Solved Wacom Tablets?

I think this is the correct forum to ask this... I like to draw and paint and am considering purchasing a Wacom tablet. (see https://www.wacom.com/en-us/products/pen-tablets) I've never really engaged in digital art and thought I'd give it a try. Has anyone ever used one of these and do they...

    Howdy from Tulsa, OK USA

Howdy, y'all! Yes, we actually say that in Oklahoma. :) I have a real name, but online everyone calls me Red. I don't know why or how it happened, but hi, I'm Red. Let's see, I'm GenX, so that should explain a lot right out of the batting cage. Grew up in Radio Shack, got my first Tandy in...
