Please help me understand why you can't directly install a Linux distro on iPads. After all iPad is just another type of a computer hardware. Because Linux is so powerful, if we search in the web, we would find one form of Linux OS for every hardware you can imagine. I found the other day a YouTube showing how to install Linux on a Sony PlayStation, or a video on installing Linux on one of the smart TV receivers. So, how about if we develop a Linux Distro fully compatible with iPad hardware; and then find a way of completely wipe out all of Apple's stuff inside the iPad; and freshly install that OS. I hope someone out there seriously thinks of this proposal.
