You can do a great deal with the find command and this time we specify that we want to find files and then use that output to count the number of files in a directory.

It's not complicated, but is a good way to use commands you already have to accomplish your goals.


It seems like this one missed the publication schedule. So, I had to fire it off manually when I noticed. Sometimes WordPress messes this sort of thing up but it's seldom, so I'll take it.
 


Ah ! One of my favourite commands

Just discovered the " -mount " option.
I don't myself but it should be mandatory some way to read the complete man pages of a given command, or at least any command with lots of potential, and to go through every single parameter. Just read it like a book :)
