    Advice Please

At the moment, there is a concern that Linux hasn't matured enough to be optimally implemented upon mobile devices. You may try Ubuntu Touch, it was received quite positively in relation to the alternatives but there is a catch: I did a quick search and I wasn't able to locate any indication...

Looking for a distro ofr my system

I second that, though I wouldn't install anything, I would just use live distros and see which one was the most responsive and used the least system resources. Eventually though, as your skill rises, you will want to go for a stripped down gentoo installation.

    Where O Where?

Goodness gracious me, what a mess! What I'm trying to understand is why did you even install them at all? The whole point of a live distro is to try if the intended works for you or not, no need to make a distro smoothie on your hard drive. wizard told you how to put some order into that chaos...

Let's hear your experiences: AMD vs. Intel (processors and other accessories)

Not anymore. AMD has gone LGA. Calm down, you're gonna get an ulcer! Nvidia has become garbage, but it wasn't back in the days when I bough mine. Please note that I'm not a nvidia apologist, I too am disgusted over what they have done over the latest gpu line-up. 2014 nvidia gpu owner here. No...

Protontricks gui - error installing component

Okay, so what does that have to do with me trying to install the Microsoft Media Foundation?

Today's article is about finding the processes that slow down your boot time...

Hehehe, go drinking all night like I did last thursday and come back with something like that dumb comment I posted before. Too late in the day to go to bed, see if your brain is working enough for you to learn anything.o_O I take it back... I did learn something, I learned what kernel panic...

Another way to enjoy Linux gaming

To be fair, I inherited a third of my family's house, where my part was 111 years old and to be torn down. My whole family kind of stayed together and made apartments out of our own parts of the house. Very low overhead with bills like that. But I'm paying a heavy price to be able afford all...

I see. I would think the kernel could identify that there is an issue with said service and at the very least assert that it isn't loading as it should. After all, debian is prized for its stability...

Today's article is about finding the processes that slow down your boot time...

I'm in the login screen usually by the time my monitor powers on, and this is on a 7 year old pci-e 3.0 prototype rev3 m.2 storage system. Unless I go poking around in the kernel, whatever I add to boot seems to activate after I'm already in my desktop environment. What could possible slow...

    Here I go again...

I know it seems a bit silly for me to mention it at this point, but if the terminal is causing issues due to your lack of knowledge, then why not use a visual interface instead? Maybe even boot a live distro of something simple... like Lubuntu? I know you want to learn, but if your drive is...

I build me a house and I am still in the process of furbishing it. My room is adjacent to the living room and I have left a hole the wall with the express purpose of connecting the pc to the living room by cable. Lets see if I have picture to show... Yes. When the time comes, there will be...
