What is it with Ubuntu lately?...It would appear to have more than the usual number of annoyances.....in your case it seems way over the top ?

I've worked through everything but a bug that my kubuntu installation will prompt me for a password on login for the windows partition on my dual boot machine. There is a check box that says remember password. I'm guessing that check box is connected to nothing.

yup....that would tick me off bigtime!

its not just ubuntu, i think its a kde problem, since im running arch and experienced same login issue asking for root pw when i ALREADY logged in, it harasses you if you set it to log in automagically for your own good, but it seems to just ask regardless now, my current setup has only one drive, yet this happened to me too, going into options and removable storage then unchecking all the boxes fixed it for me
