I'm having issues with pointing Software Manager to install it programs on my main 3TB hard drive. Currently it's installing on a USB stick that isn't even in computer. It's driving me more crazy than I claim to be.
I see no SAVE TO option to change it.
Where am I messing up or what am I missing?

from some of your previous posts, i believe i recall you are using linux mint. can you confirm if so and what version you are using?

can you explain what you mean by that part? what are you trying to install and why do you say it is being installed to that usb stick?

I sure can.
When I try to install through software manager it starts off fine. When I click on launch it gives me a message saying that the location doesn't exist. It points to a USB that isn't connected to the computer.
I've installed my fair share of programs and have never had this happen.

is this for one specific program or all programs? if one program, what is the name of the program?

Have you checked your internet connection is OK

That is the specifics. I've only tried this program...PassKeep, sort of scared to try anything more until this issue is fixed.

Thank You

OK your inxi said your connected by wi-fi..
try
sudo apt update && apt --fix-missing
Followed by
apt --fix-broken install

see if that helps

I've only tried this program...PassKeep
when i try searching for "passkeep" in software manager, i don't get any results. is it possible it has a different name? if i search for just "pass" there are a few different versions of Keepass* (among others).

do you mean keepass /

?

as noted in the screenshot, there are several versions of keepass (Keepassx, Keepass2, Keepassxc and KeepassXC). can you clarify which one you installed?

part of the reason i ask is that KeepassXC is a flatpak and might behave a bit differently than the others.

Keepass2, works like a charm on other laptop, This one saves to a USB that isn't even inserted in computer

Just fixed my issue...I reloaded Linux, working perfectly as usual.

Some day I'll stop messing with things that ain't broken.

You mean you rebooted?

Did that a few times

Nothing changed.

I wiped the drive and completely reloaded Linux

Had to be a glitch somewhere.

This might be a good time for you to become familiar with Timeshift

Never had an opportunity to use it, installation was like 3 or 4 days old

I have Timeshift on older laptop, that's been running great for a year or more.

New laptop has been issue after issue and a more recent model. Both Dells

probably more "security' crap associated with windows

If it is running well now...choose an external drive to send the snapshots to, and save it while it is running like it should....(just inn case you "
mess with things that ain't broken "

Plan on it, still need to add Skype and a couple other things, then run it a couple Days and backup everything...twice, just to CMA.
