manjaro xfce touchpad and gestures best configuration?

What do people using xfce arch or derivatives suggest for touchpad driver and gestures.

I found Syngestures and xf86-input-synaptics but although it installs without errors, shows in menu, but will not run.

xf86-input-libinput and libinput-gestures are the default and I did get this to work but I thought there may be a better solution.
All ideas welcome.
