Pvcreate /dev/SD? Or by uuid

Recommended way to pvcreate please and if you can give me the URL to the documentation?
pvcreate /dev/sd?
Or pvcreate -u once blockid or other commands give the uuid?

Yep, says /dev/xxx.
Seems -u is maybe only used in recovery or other restoration operations.

pvcreate /dev/sd?

You can just use that, it will then create something looking like this.

/dev/sda2: UUID="BYc7Qh-gtCw-b2vo-Bs1V-tuKN-4AUj-9tuD14" TYPE="LVM2_member" PARTUUID="f9ba7aaf-02"
