With 8.0 Gig of ram increasing swap serves no point.

I have 8.0 Gig of ram and my swap partition is only 4.0 Gig.

Unless you hibernate your computer with a major amount of open tabs and programs running I doubt swap will ever be used.

Code:
Swap: ID-1: swap-1 type: partition size: 4 GiB used: 0 KiB (0.0%) dev: /dev/sda5

RAM, holds your data for active applications, and doesn't increase your system speed. In fact, the more RAM you have, the more applications you can have open simultaneously.

On my gaming rig I've got 16 Gig's of RAM and it doesn't move any faster than my laptop.
The extra RAM does come in handy when I'm doing heavy gaming.

On my old rig that I had replacing my GPU from a Radeon 3300 to a Radeon 7700 with 2 Gig's of RAM made my system run much faster!
Also, installing an nvme increased the boot up time from one minute to 4 seconds.:)
