hi all

in calc, i'm selecting "save as" (not "save")

at the bottom i usually see a bunch of file extensions to chose from, but i don't see any

maybe my display isn't set properly and its outside the monitor....which will be too complicated for me to fix

so is there another way to get to the "save as" file extensions

thx

Its a drop down on lower right side of the save as dialog. I did a couple minutes of experimentation. You could try mousing over the edge of the save as box until you get the double arrow. Holding your left mouse button down you should be able to shrink the box until you are able to see the drop down menu. Hope that helps

hi j

thanks for your prompt response :)

You could try mousing over the edge of the save as box until you get the double arrow.
--------------"save as" is not a box, its a menu item under "file" so what are you referring to

Holding your left mouse button down you should be able to shrink the box until you are able to see the drop down menu.
-------i tried this and nothing happened.

My experience with anything Libre is fairly minimal.

Looking at the screenshot below, I can only find "save as" in the top left hand corner

I cannot see anything that resembles it down the bottom anywhere

I have poiny=ted the red arrow at a small drop down arrow beside the save box....click on that and a window drops down with

'save as', export, save a copy and a couple of others....

When you clck on save as...it opens a window showing the various places on your computer that you can save it to...and in the bottom right hand corner of that window it says ODF Spreadsheet....if you click the little drop down arrow it gives you may more file extensions

Moving this to General Computing - it is not suitable for Off Topic as it is a support question.

There is another possibility I found.

When i open libre office calc, it automatically fills the screen

Across the top of the page it is ordered by the aphabet, ...A B C D E F etc etc

Go to the P column....and follow that column down to the absolute bottom of the page..........you should be able to see a small pink coloured square.
Hover your mouse over that square....and it hsould tell you.....

hi c

you're always very nice to me. i don't know why you even tried to answer this when you said you don't even use libre :)

your first response;
going to that red arrow spot is the same as file - save as, so that doesn't help

your second response;
thats the same thing as "save" and i'm trying to diagnose "save as"

i hate software

Click on that small upside down arrow...it is at the tip of my red pointer......that will show "save as"

I just noticed you said "in my first response'......and I have double checked and that is what is there.

What are the chances that your software is out of date?

click on 'help' up the top and then down to 'about libre office'....that will tell you the version number

Mine is 7.3.7.2

The Linux mint that you are running would help too.....menu....typwe in welcome screen...click on that...a window will open with the version in the bottom right hand corner

yeah i don't know how to update libre. its not listed in software manager. it will be too complicated for me to figure out to do so.

i hate software

It is listed in software manager

I will take a guess that your version of Linux is seriously outdated. If it is outdated and not receiving security updates, I would not trust it to do anything that involves banking or anything of a financial nature.

no, it doesn't

Mine is 8.2.9 ....but it should still be there

Your version of Linux Mint would help greatly.

Are you talking about Libre.....(there is no supported until date shown)

If you are talking about the Linux OS, that will show on the web......give me the version number and i can search it for you

I wonder why?

Could it be because you refused to answer the simplest of question ?.....which are totally necessary to give you the help you ask for ?
You have been asked over and over for the version of Linux you are using.

You have one chance remaining with me.....and only one.
