When I click on the download button in the software center's "Updates" tab, it first loads to about 25% and then stops, and after that my internet goes out (this also happens when I run "sudo dnf upgrade"). All of my device's internet go out at the same time, even my television. It comes back about 3 minutes later. I'm a real beginner when it comes to actual issues so I would like to find a fix. Thanks!

Motherboard: TUF GAMING B550-PLUS WIFI II
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x
GPU: RTX 2060
Internet Adapter: Not sure but I think it was: MediaTek MT7921~, it came with the motherboard.
Router is the: Home Hub 3000 from Bell(I live in Quebec so they have pretty much complete monopoly over the gigabit internet)
Firmware version: 0303, Fedora 40 Workstation GNOME
Kernel version: 6.8.5-301.fc40.x86_64

I tried putting journalctl -f and, the internet cut right about:

Here is what happens in Journalctl -f when the internet gets re-enabled for all my devices (after the 3~ minutes of no internet):

Jun 02 19:00:45 fedora NetworkManager[1143]: <info> [1717369245.7463] manager: NetworkManager state is now CONNECTING

Can you give output from...

lspci

nmcli con show

nmcli dev wifi list

and also, if you can, run the following for about 20 seconds or so.

watch -n 5 cat /proc/net/wireless

you can press [cntrl] and [c] at the same time to break out of it.

Oh my gosh I am so sorry for the delay. I attached a txt file because it would not fit entierly in the text box I think. I put the commands before a :, and the command output under that line. I haven't installed anything critical on the system yet except google chrome since I usually update before doing that. Thanks

This is your Wi-Fi adapter.

Your networkManager says this is interface wlp5s0, it's connected to a local network

All of these show very good signal. 90% or better for the top two.

I don't see any drops or errors.

The network itself looks pretty good. I'm thinking something else is causing this, not your network connection.

I did see this.

Could it be your router going up and down?

Not sure what you mean by router going up and down, but I went and looked at my router when my internet disconnected and it said first "Connecting" then it said "Loading network" and scrolled through all of the mac addresses, and then it connected successfully and Wi-Fi was re-established
. Sorry I'm a beginner at these kinds of things. Thanks.
OH, this doesn't happen anywhere else but on Fedora, and I tried restarting my router but it didn't help. Fedora sends a notification that says "Activation of network is unavailable"

I have used wireless in Fedora for years without any problems, but I don't have a Mediatek wreless card.

What is the output of...

lsmod | grep wifi

(I haven't updated my system yet because of the internet bug)

And the output of "grep wifi" is nothing (It was in a frozen state where it seemed like I needed to wait but it never came)
Edit: just found out it isn't thr updates that bug my wi-fi, it's just Fedora.

I shut down NetworkManager because I kept having problems like this. I use ifupdown instead and now those problems don't happen anymore. See the interfaces(5) man page for more information.
