You can get an FLV download, and then windows movie maker is great for stealing the music from the videos. I cannot remember the name of the downloader software, but once you do that, import the video and copy it to the "audio" portion in WMM and save. Linux wise, I am not sure what tool there is, but any video editor should be able to do the conversion.
 
There is a very good site that downloads Youtube videos. Although it also offers a conversion from Youtube videos to .mp3 audio files

You just copy the URL and choose what format, quality, etc.
 
I used a software known Factory Format that converts any type of file into another required type of file.it will also convert the you tube video into Mp3 format file.
 
I would be cautious about using those youtube to mp3 websites. One of the main sites seems to be in a bit of trouble with Google because it may not be so legal to turn copyrighted videos into mp3s.
 
Why do we need to go this far just to convert a youtube video? If I remember rightly, we can do the same thing just as easily with a plugin.
 
I use a Linux utility called youtube-dl. The syntax is easy youtube-dl URL and it downloads a html-5 video to the folder you run the command from. After that I use any of several conversion programs to change it to whatever I want. No need to rely on third party sites at all.

I think you have websites based to convert files online ,you don't need any knowledge or anything else for that ,just google them :) .
 
The best conversion site is FileWiggler, they have nearly every conversion format at its highest quality, it is free and easy to use.
 
Nice to here that but I personally use any video converter or zamzaar for converting any file to any other format whether it is a video file or an audio file.
 
That's really helpful. Thanks. BTW, do you know a good tool to download youtube videos? I use a couple of them, but I am not happy with the end results.

Again, I download them with RealPlayer and then easily convert them to mp3.
 
there are FLV downloaders the file to your computer and then you can convert it locally.
