Im met with this black screen when i try to boot into kali linux live. What am i suposed to do?

on the website it says "On the grub menu, select Kali Linux and press [Tab] or [e] to edit the grub settings. Now search for the line that starts with ‘linux‘ and ends with ‘quiet splash’ or ‘splash’." Where do i select it?
If you've already hit the e, and now see new text on screen, navigate down with the down arrow key until you see the linux line.

This is the grub prompt, so the system hasn't entered the grub configuration output that normally becomes available after hitting e at the grub menu on a working system.

This could be one of any of a number of problems.

There is a way of trying to boot the system from the grub prompt, one of which is described here: https://medium.com/codebrace/rescuing-a-non-booting-grub-on-linux-9409dd623743. Another one is here: https://www.linuxfoundation.org/blo...n-how-to-rescue-a-non-booting-grub-2-on-linux.

Note that the prompt here is grub>, and not, grub rescue>, the latter requiring slightly different treatment.

Ultimately, if none of those approaches work, then you can reinstall grub from a live disk or rescue disk and see if that works. Beyond that, if the system won't boot, it may come down to reinstallation of the distro.
